Enjoying life with a Kaboja

Enjoying life with a Kaboja

This has been my most enjoyable project so far. I promised my friend, who is the owner of the longboardbrand Dinavien Longboards, last fall to make a film for his mini cruiser board the Kaboja. Because of the weather it was not possible to start filming until May this year, that gave me a lot of time to think about how I wanted to make this film.

One of the toughest challenges was to find someone that could ride the board. I wanted someone with some skills that could pull of a trick or two. But I failed, instead my brother helped me out. He hasn’t been riding for a long time but he has the right balance for the job.

The spring came late this year in Sweden, but when it finally came, I took my son out for a long walk and brought my Canon 5D mark II to find the good spots in my hometown Jönköping. I looked up all the great places and took photos to remember the angels I found. I attempted to draw a storyboard, but my drawing skills weren’t really living up to the images in my head. The photos I took during the walk around town later functioned as a storyboard when I went out filming. During that recon walk I even did the time-lapse you can see in the middle of the film.
